‘Sold On Love’ by Kathleen Fuller

About The Book
She’s a high-fashion realtor; he’s a low-maintenance mechanic. What on earth could they have in common?

Dressed in designer labels and cruising around town in her red Mercedes, workaholic realtor Harper Wilson presents the picture of success in charming Maple Falls. But Harper’s carefully cultivated image is resting on a shaky foundation. With a sudden drought in sales, she’s starting to see her professional dreams—along with her posh lifestyle—slipping away.

Car trouble brings her to mechanic Rusty Jenkins, and their unlikely friendship is taken to the next level when the laid-back Rusty allows her to give him a makeover for a charity bachelor auction. Harper soon discovers that beneath the town mechanic’s wild beard and grease-stained clothing lies a true Southern gentleman—someone with a kind heart and dreams of his own. Their chemistry is undeniable, but as they get closer, past fears and relationships start to creep in, reminding them of just how much is at stake when carefully constructed facades fall apart.

Maybe their worlds aren’t so separate after all. And maybe covering up who you really are keeps you from discovering what was always meant to be.

My Rating: 4 Stars
This was the first book I ever read by this author and I enjoyed it so much. Delightful storyline and Rusty Jenkins was an absolute perfect hero. The plot was good and I could connect with all aspects of the story.

It is part of a series and could be read as a stand alone, but I definitely felt as if I were missing a bit by not reading the first two. I would also have appreciated a bit more of a faith thread. All told, I was very happy I read it.

“Jesse Donovan has messed up plenty of times. But now one mess up has come back big time. Maeryn Scott was there during that mistake and her son now wants to meet his dad–the one who doesn’t know he exists.
Victoria Bylin has crafted a wonderful story of how these people handle extremely difficult situations that crop up in their lives. There is a lot of emotion in this book and she handles it all very well. We don’t just see one character’s pain, but she fleshes out all of them with their hurts and anxieties and how they deal with these life-altering situations. Very moving and difficult to put down, this one is a must read. P.S. You’ll love the basement!

About Jodie Bailey
Jodie Bailey is the USA Today Best-selling author of novels about freedom and the heroes who fight for it. Jodie is also a public speaker and teacher who packs her novels with the knowledge she’s gained as an Army wife.
Jodie Bailey grew up in Eastern North Carolina, where she developed a love for golden sand and the Atlantic Ocean. She started writing stories as soon as she learned how to put sentences together, and spent her childhood and teen years making her best friends’ dreams come true on paper.
In college, she met the love of her life—a soldier who rides a Harley and jumps out of airplanes for fun. This prompted a whole lot of moving from place to place, and she had no idea how much those moves would work their way into her stories. For ten years, she pursued her second love, teaching. Now a full-time writer, she still teaches part-time because the kids keep her young and, every once in awhile, she needs some time away from the imaginary characters.
Jodie currently lives in North Carolina with her husband, her daughter, and a very stubborn pup.

My Rating: 5 Stars!
‘Law enforcement officers didn’t get to pick and choose who they protected. They protected all. Equally.’

I’m a fan of this author. Jodie Bailey always draws me in with her writing. She has good plots and wonderful characters. She adds to this Rocky Mountain K-9 Unit with book number five here and her contribution is just great. I was all in from the first page. The setting and plot were done very well and her characters were ones I immediately connected with. And I love when that happens.

The action is pretty much non-stop as Paige and her wolf hybrid rescue is threatened intensely throughout. She is helped by the man she ghosted six years earlier for a very good reason. That part was done very well, in my opinion. Reece is determined to protect Paige despite her treatment of him. And let me tell you, I never saw it coming who the culprit was. Not once. Well done!

‘He was headed on a mission with a woman who was in no way ready for the field. Dread left a sour taste in his mouth.’

I’ve been a Tina Radcliffe fan a good while and have never been disappointed in her work. This book, she switches genres to suspense, and she does it effortlessly. And wow! She proved on the first page she was a total dab hand at suspense. Totally proved it. I could not put this book down!

Radcliffe knows her stuff. She has created believable characters, a great plot and managed to plop me right down in the middle of this story. She is detailed with all aspects of this book and that really matters to me when I read a book. I loved every minute! I hope the author continues to give us more of this genre.

‘She’d wanted answers, but not like this.’

I just this very minute finished the book and my heart (and my face) is smiling. Big. What a very precious story. Susanne Dietze saved the best for last in her series for sure. I’ve grown to love the inhabitants in this small town in her Widow’s Peak Creek series. I’d like to visit, if only it weren’t a fictional place.

Paige and Joel were great characters. Oh, each has their bits of faults, but they truly had hearts for God and trusted Him for the hard things in their lives. Even if His will hurt. Oh, I loved this book so much! Very much recommended.

‘How did she leave it with God? How did she move on?’

This was a very nice inspirational suspense novel from Michelle Aleckson. A very interesting premise, very believable, and I did not even guess it at all! Totally took me by surprise who the culprit was. I enjoyed the characterization of the female protagonist and how the author took those characteristics.
The action was virtually non-stop the entire way. I was on the edge of my seat. Well done!

My Rating 5 Stars!
I have been waiting for this story the last two Goodnight books. Yates Trudeau, who we have seen on the periphery of the Trudeau property, just barely, and not even quite sure it even was him. But it was. Yates Trudeau has come home, injured and hopeless. Hopeless in his own mind, that is. Yates’s condition, both emotional and physical, broke my heart. He just got down deep in my heart. I loved his character. And the woman he basically abandoned when he ran off eight years ago to join the military has never stopped loving him. But now Yates wants to push her away. And wants to love her at the same time. There are other issues involved here, too, that cause trouble. And those Trudeau men, Wade and Bowie, my goodness, what great men they are. Full of Jesus and love for Yates. Powerful story here. Highly recommended. Linda Goodnight seriously knows how to tell a wonderful story.

‘Code Of Courage’ by Janice Cantore

About The Book
Detective Danni Grace has never met a police officer who wants to face a scenario where pulling the trigger on another person is the only option. When the worst does occur and there’s a police-involved shooting, it leads to riots and calls to disband the entire police force in La Rosa, Danni’s hometown.

After fifteen years on the force, Danni has had enough. Injured in the line of duty when a protester throws a chunk of concrete at her and shaken by the vitriol being shown to the police, Danni realizes for the first time that she’s lost her passion for the job.

While she’s on a leave of absence, though, a community activist in La Rosa is shot and a fellow officer is blamed for his murder. Taking on this case means stepping back into a job Danni’s not sure she can do anymore . . . and working closely with her ex-husband, Gabriel Fox, an investigator for the city prosecutor’s office. Danni will need to tap into her code of courage to uncover the truth, prevent another injustice, and uphold her oath to serve and protect.

About Janice Cantore

My Rating: 5 Stars!
‘Why should she continue to put her life on the line for such an ungrateful public?’

I have enjoyed every book by Janice Cantore I’ve read. She knows her stuff. As a retired police officer, she writes very convincingly of police and crime matters. This time around, she deals with a city that has leadership that decides the police are no longer necessary. Rioting and property damage are the normal happenings and the police are suspended or relieved of their duties when trying to solve crimes.

Police officer Danni Grace and investigator Gabriel Fox, once man and wife, are trying to do their jobs in spite of this upheaval in the community and the subsequent directives from the mayor and city prosecutor’s office for the police to virtually stand down. These folks think citizens should just watch out for crime and most of these citizens are rioters and protestors. It was a bit scary reading of what was happening here in this city.

Then a cold case comes to light that has Gabe wondering if this could be related. He and Danni didn’t make a go of their marriage, but both are now having second thoughts. She has always depended on her faith and he has never depended on faith. But things are ramping up and about to change for both of them.

I’ll be honest: I didn’t know how Cantore was going to bring this book to a satisfying conclusion given her subject matter. I was captivated throughout the reading and eager to see the ending, just to see how this would all play out. But Cantore did a masterful job! She continued to layer the story nearly each chapter and I was completely hooked. This was a totally satisfying read. Well done!
