My Rating: 5 Stars! ‘At this point, her mother would have dropped to her knees and prayed. No way would Nora waste time with that. Prayers were for people who needed saving. Nora intended to do the saving herself.’
Boy, this one ticks all the boxes for a suspense lover like myself. Mentink hits the ground running with an action-packed story and continues throughout the book. Her characters are well developed and the plot a good one. It was good to see friends from previous books in the series also. I read it in a day! Well done!

My Rating: 5 Stars! I love it when I start a book and immediately connect with the characters. I did this here. A very good story, with great characters make for some pleasant reading. I finished this one in less than a day. Mindy Obenhaus has fleshed her characters out very well here and included a sweet spiritual thread that we could all learn from. It was completely delightful and I enjoyed every single minute.

Mindy Obenhaus has graciously consented to giving a guest post here on my blog AND she will be giving away a copy of A Christmas Bargain. Read on for how to enter.
A Dream in the Making by Mindy Obenhaus
Has God ever given you a dream? A desire for something you had no idea how to achieve. Or you might know, but the steps involved seem insurmountable.
In my new release, A Christmas Bargain, Annalise Grant longs for her independence. To prove to others that she’s capable of standing on her own two feet and achieving her dreams. So when she inherits a Christmas tree farm from her deceased husband’s uncle, she’s convinced it’s God’s way of fulfilling her dream. Until she’s faced with the amount of work it’ll take to bring that dream to fruition. And as she trusts in her own abilities instead of God’s provision, her confidence is shaken, and she begins to buy into the opinions of others.
Dreams rarely come true overnight. They often require a lot of hard work, whether physical, mental or simply time-consuming. I firmly believe that my dream of becoming a writer was planted by God. I can say this with ninety-nine percent certainty because I was never a reader. My mom was an avid reader, but I thought reading was boring. Something I had to do for school. Later, as a busy mom of five, I had no time. Magazines were my preference because they had pictures. Nonetheless, I always had a very active imagination and would create fictitious scenarios in my head.
Then my mom came to live with us—and brought all of her books. As I sorted through them, hoping to get rid of as many as possible, I was intrigued by some of the covers. So I’d read the back cover and the first page. Guess who suddenly became an avid reader? The next thing I knew, I was contemplating those stories in my head and wondering, “Could I write a book?”
Soon, that question turned into a dream, and I felt God calling me to write for Him. That was in 2006. I didn’t receive my first book contract until 2013. Just because God called me to write, didn’t mean I was going to be published overnight, or that I’d ever be published at all. But I remained obedient to that calling. The years between that seed being planted and publication were filled with a lot of hard work. Failures and disappointments. I had to learn the craft of writing and get to know the industry. And I had to trust that God had set me on that path for a reason. Reasons I may never know.
I believe God instills dreams in all of us to draw us closer to Him. To teach us to rely on Him throughout the journey. To plant those markers in our lives that we can look back on when times get tough and remind ourselves that He is always with us and will never forsake us.
Has God given you a dream? If so, did you brush it off, thinking it fanciful or difficult? Or did you accept His offer to journey with Him down a new path?

I haven’t missed a book by Jordyn Redwood since I read her first. Here, she gives her readers some pretty intense, non-stop suspense as the characters try to survive a bad guy who has no intention of stopping until he achieves his hateful goals. Well done!

About The Book A life in pieces. A hundred-year-old journal. And a chance for love to be reborn. Olivia Ward arrived in Bethlehem Springs alone—with no job, no home, and no money—after her manipulative ex-husband used his power and wealth to destroy everything. Six years later, the peaceful life she rebuilt is once again turned upside down when she learns that her fifteen-year-old daughter, Emma, will be coming to live with her. The reunion should be a dream come true, but years of deception have driven a wedge between them. And Emma seems more interested in an old diary she discovered than reconciliation with her mother. Tyler Murphy knows what it’s like to lose everything. Propelled by his history in the foster-care system, he’s determined to root out dishonesty and protect the most vulnerable through his work as an investigator. When he’s hired to investigate Olivia Ward, though, he finds himself longing to believe she’s exactly who she appears to be, and he soon realizes that his desire to learn more about her has nothing to do with his job. But how can he pursue a relationship that began with a lie? In this latest novel from award-winning author Robin Lee Hatcher, an antique diary, a family-fueled investigation, and unexpected feelings collide to create a promise that’s worth fighting for.

About The Book “A salute to the power of books and of friendship!”–SARAH SUNDIN, bestselling and award-winning author of Until Leaves Fall in Paris
“The Blackout Book Club is an engaging story that illustrates the power of books to unite and encourage us in trying times. . . . A wonderful read.”–LYNN AUSTIN, author of Long Way Home
In 1942, an impulsive promise to her brother before he goes off to the European front puts Avis Montgomery in the unlikely position of head librarian in small-town Maine. Though she has never been much of a reader, when wartime needs threaten to close the library, she invents a book club to keep its doors open. The women she convinces to attend the first meeting couldn’t be more different–a wealthy spinster determined to aid the war effort, an exhausted mother looking for a fresh start, and a determined young war worker.
At first, the struggles of the home front are all the club members have in common, but over time, the books they choose become more than an escape from the hardships of life and the fear of the U-boat battles that rage just past their shores. As the women face personal challenges and band together in the face of danger, they find they have more in common than they think. But when their growing friendships are tested by secrets of the past and present, they must decide whether depending on each other is worth the cost.

My Rating: 4 Stars I am a reader. Always have been. I’ve loved reading since I knew what reading was. And I treasure books. Here, in this story, books are integral to the story. Amy Lynn Green sets the stage with her plot, taking place in the early months of World War II in a small town in Maine.
Avis Montgomery starts a book club as a way to help women take their minds off their troubles during this dreary time, with black outs and U boats off the coast. The women who are a part of the club are very different, but they bind together with the books and the challenges facing them during this war. Green digs deep and brings out this period of history very well. I love plopping myself down right into the middle of the book I’m reading and it’s easy when you read a well-done book.

This was a seriously good book. Hannah Linder is a new author to me and this is her debut novel. If this is how she starts off, I am a forever fan! Well done!
I love a good Regency very much indeed and Linder does this genre quite well. It is a story of unforgiveness, bitterness, agony, but also a story of restoration and the mercies of God. It is gothic in tone, with more than a touch of intrigue, with danger thrown in, and it is also heart-soaring with a strong romance that is deeply felt. I was captivated the entire time. I quite simply loved everything about it. I can’t wait to read more by this author.
My thanks to Barbour Publishing for a copy of this book. I was not required to leave a review. The opinion here is completely my own.

About Natalie Walters
My world revolves around GIJOE and our three adult (or almost adult) children who keep my life anything but predictable. Our boots hit the ground wherever the Army sends us but home is when we’re all together no matter the zipcode. My passion is writing stories where adventure meets love and share my belief that life rooted in purpose is a story worth telling.
My Rating: 5 Stars! I love the books of these three authors, so when I saw they were doing a novella collection, I was all in. I was NOT disappointed, either. Not one bit.
Suspense is my favorite genre and these ladies know how to deliver it and deliver it well. Each has taken a secondary character from their earlier series and given them their own story. But don’t worry! They can totally be read as a stand alone story.
Lynette Eason, Lynn H. Blackburn, and Natalie Walters have just shown out here, folks. These novellas definitely satisfied this suspense lover’s heart. Great action, totally unputdownable, and enough to keep you on the edge of your seat. They just knocked it plumb out of the park. I love it when a book makes me feel this way! Without a doubt, this trio of novellas, from some of the best suspense authors in the business is definitely one for the keeper shelf!!

My Rating: 5 Stars!! ‘Please God, this is going to take You.’
I just this moment finished this stunning book by Halle e Bridgeman and wanted to get my review done while it was still super fresh in my mind. Wow! I love this series so much. And by the way, this series is how I discovered Bridgeman’s work. I will be on a mission to read all her work now.
I’ve loved the stories of these men who were on that Special Forces team in the Green Berets. What a powerful lot of guys they were. And they love God, too. That’s even better! This is Phil Osbourne’s story. I am sitting here at a loss for words as to how to best describe how much I loved this book. At one point near the end, when God is speaking to Phil’s character, I felt as if He were speaking just to me. I just sat there and wept. I find it so amazing that God can speak to us, as readers, through the pages of a book.
There is great action here, as in the previous two in the series. You will definitely be taken on an exciting ride when you read one of Bridgeman’s books here. No doubt about that. You will also meet great characters that seemingly leap off the page as you find yourself in the middle of the story yourself. I gasped several times as things went not the way I wanted them to. My husband always says, ‘Good book?’ Good doesn’t even begin to describe this book. It made me want to turn around and start it again. I loved every single minute. Even the heart rending ones. I can without reservation highly recommend this series and this author. Well done!!
