My rating: 4 Stars!
Sharee Stover takes her readers on an interesting trip to the Black Hills of South Dakota. Only it’s a dangerous trip, with a killer lurking behind every tree. We get a good journey into sink holes, mines, caves, and entomology. And that killer will stop at nothing to silence those who are onto his crimes. And there are dogs!! Sharee Stover knows her stuff. Recommended.

Review: ‘Say It’s For Good’ by Teresa Tysinger

About The Book:
Is a decade enough time to heal old wounds?

Professional chef Leah Spencer is level-headed, responsible, and practical—making it an easy decision to move home to Laurel Cove, North Carolina to care for her ailing father. All he wants is for his only child to find love and partnership like he had with his late wife—before he leaves her all alone. Desperate to ease his worries, as well as her own, she breaks character and creates a fake relationship with the one man in town who likely wants nothing to do with her. And the one man she’s ever truly loved.

Ladies’ man Jasper Bowdon has successfully avoided commitment ever since his heart was broken a decade ago. Casual dating, however, had grown tiresome and he’d recently decided to take a break from women to finally figure out what he really wants. Why, then, does he agree to a pretend relationship with the very woman who’d ruined him in the first place? And why is he left wondering if it could all be part of God’s plan to heal them both?

Love and friendship get a second chance in this final installment of the Laurel Cove Romance Series. Books in this series are stand-alone and can be read and enjoyed in any order.

My Rating: 5 Stars!

‘Everything doesn’t always turn out fine. But I know God wants the best for us. And I think you’re the best for me.’

What can I say that will do this book justice? That I loved it? I surely did. That it moved me? It truly did. Here’s what will make or break a book for me. If I start reading and the characters seem wooden and unfeeling. That will make me put a book down quickly. Teresa Tysinger does not create wooden characters. Ever. Even her secondary characters are wonderful. They walk into my heart and all of a sudden, I’m part of every scene; albeit just as an observer. Her characters deal with real life problems. And they deal with them as normal people do and they face heartache and fear and love just as we do.

This is not a fluffy read, folks. The heroine deals with an issue many people face, and sometimes it threatens to completely overwhelm her. And the hero is, well, he’s an amazing guy, and a wonderful man of God. One of the best. Both of these characters learn that life is best faced when you learn to lean on God.

The spiritual thread here is powerful. One sentence ministered greatly to a situation I was facing in my own life. Then it kept on ministering. I love it when God does that! Don’t miss this one, folks. I highly recommend it.

My thanks to the publisher for a copy of this book. I was not pressured to leave a positive review and the opinion here is entirely my own.

‘Hard to keep a clear head when someone was doing their best to blow it off.’

Jessica Patch is a dab hand at a great inspirational suspense story. I have been a fan since I read her very first book, which was not suspense, but awesome! She does well in several genres, in fact. This one features a great plot with super characters who work hard to keep bad guys off the streets. If they don’t get done in by them first. Patch’s heroes are always off the charts great, too. I loved it!

The premise for this book is wonderful. My family has a strong military presence and with my own husband being a veteran, I was very interested in reading the book. I know that many veterans are paired with service dogs and they are of great value to them. So, I was all in from the beginning with this plot.

Jill Lynn has crafted a great story of how dogs are matched with veterans and their individual needs. I loved how well trained and sensitive a dog Margo was. And it’s a good story to boot!

Review: ‘Safe House Exposed’ by Darlene L. Turner

About The Book
Witness protection should have kept them safe.

Instead, it left them completely exposed…

But witness protection has a leak, and Emma’s enemies know exactly where to find her. My Review: 4 Stars!

‘Would he ever be able to prove he was worthy?’

I really enjoyed this book from Darlene L. Turner. Witness protection gone bad is the basic theme here. She has crafted a great plot and characters that have issues beyond the protection theme. Add to that a culprit who is maddingly difficult to identify (I never did!), and then throw in a surprise twist, and you’re in for a great suspense story with a good spiritual thread included. Well done!

Review: ‘What Matters Most’ (The Spencer Family) by Andrea Boyd

About The Book
Jolene Spencer had been perplexed from the first mention of Micah Abrams. Why would a grown man uproot his life and move two states over at the urging of Jo’s momma? How did he and Ma even meet? And he’s raising a daughter by himself. Where is the child’s momma and how does she fit into his plans?
When Jo first sees him standing on the front porch, staring like a deer caught in the headlights and seemingly unable to speak, she pegs him as a shy one. But then he walks in with a confident swagger and mingles with her family like he’s been there all his life.
Jo finds herself falling for the stranger and his adorable little girl. A dream that had been tucked away and forgotten about suddenly seems within her grasp. Then her worst sin is exposed, and it all turns to ash. She’s not the woman she once was, but does that even matter? Micah seems willing to set her mistakes aside, but can she forgive herself?
About Andrea Boyd
Each of Andrea Boyd’s series represents a different genre but all fall into the category of romance. All offer an element of her own brand of humor. And all are a tribute to God. Besides writing, she loves spending time with her family, quilting, going to car shows, and driving around in her 1968 Barracuda convertible. Andrea lives with her husband, Tommy, and at least a couple of cats in York County, SC.

My Rating: 5 stars!

‘Some people had to hit rock bottom before they called on God. Maybe she was nearing that point.’

This series, which I suspect isn’t quite over, has been so very good. Heartwarming. Precious. Deeply moving, and, I must say, at times very heartbreaking. I wept during the reading of this one. Jo’s troubles and the affect they had on her heart hurt to read sometimes.

Andrea Boyd knows her stuff, creating great characters and weaving their joys, problems, heartaches into a rich and moving story. Well done!

Review: ‘Never Court A Count’ (Fortune’s Brides, The Wedding Vow, Book 2) by Regina Scott

About The Book

Being engaged to the most dashing bachelor in London isn’t all fun and games.

Lady Calantha, middle daughter of the Duke of Wey, has the unique ability to turn invisible in company. Well, not entirely invisible, or the eligible Frederick, Count Montalban, wouldn’t have noticed her at all. But Callie’s shy nature and plain features tend to make people overlook her. And they say the most outrageous things around her as a result, which is why she accidentally overhears strangers plotting to harm the count and his royal brother and father. What can a lady do but warn him?

Fritz, Count Montalban, is determined to keep his family safe. But he can’t drag Callie all over London to identify those plotting against them unless she has a reason to be alone with him. Pretending an engagement sounds like the perfect plan. After all, his dashing demeanor hides a wounded soul that demands he hold a true fiancée at a distance. But there’s something about Callie that pulls him closer.

As the danger grows along with their attraction, Fritz and Callie must work together to protect both their families, and Fritz finds his heart cracking open. Can he prove to the sweet Callie that she will never be invisible, to him?

If you like warm, witty historical romances, with a touch of intrigue, then you’ll love this historical romance by an award-winning author.

4 Stars!

Book two of Regina Scott’s series is even better than the first! Lady Calantha is a wonderful character who is known as a lady who can become invisible. All because she listens. That skill serves her well as she enters into a pretend engagement with Fritz, Count Montalban, in order to help him discover the culprits trying to besmirch his name. This was a very good Regency.

‘What if God held it against her that she was questioning, doubting where He might be?’

How do I begin? Ashley Clark’s ‘Heirloom secrets’ series has been so very precious to read. Told in split time, this one manages to fill your heart up so much. From the Civil War to the present day, these characters, with their troubles, joys, and heartbreaks, have become my friends. Their lives all intertwine in some way and it is so great to see how it progresses. They endure so much at times, but they also find great peace. I was captivated by the stories in each time period and Clark includes a wonderfully precious spiritual theme that will impact your heart greatly. It seriously blessed me. Well done!
