If you like inspirational suspense, here’s a keeper for you. Sixteen, count ’em, SIXTEEN, tales of suspense. Short novellas that can easily be read in just a short amount of time, they are sure to be pleasing to suspense fans. I had read only three of these authors before, Mary Alford, Ruth Logan Herne and Loree Lough, but thoroughly enjoyed the offerings by others. The one by Elizabeth Ludwig was especially suspenseful. Highly recommended.

Allie and Linc will now have to work fast, hard and dangerously to stop a determined killer before one of them ends up dead for real.
Eason hits the ground running with this one and the action does not let up one little tiny bit throughout the book. Russian mobsters, tracking devices that don’t quit, one injury after another, not knowing who to trust, these are the things which make this book good. Besides, the great writing, of course. I was completely captivated and could not wait to finish! And the ending…..ahhhh, Eason ties it up beautifully. In my opinion, this is her best book ever! I highly recommend this one, folks. Don’t miss it.

‘It was, perhaps, the greatest torment to love someone who barely seemed to notice one’s existence.’ So begins Underestimating Miss Cecilia. The second Aynsley daughter suffers from unrequited love for Edward Amherst, the earl next door’s son. Ned has a bit of a reputation; well, more than a bit, but he is reformed, but still doesn’t know Cecy exists. However, the author has a plan for these two and she quite nicely brings it about.

I fell in love with Carolyn Miller’s first book, ‘The Elusive Miss Ellison’ and knew this was a Regency writer I wanted to follow. She now has eight books under her belt, with a ninth coming in this particular series. She does do a good Regency! Come along on the journey as Cecy and Ned follow the rules of the time and discover that, sometimes, dreams do come true!

I saw a review for this book from a blogger I follow and it sounded very good, so I purchased it. I enjoy finding new authors and this one was exceptionally well written, great plot, believable characters, and a strong spiritual element, which I do love.
It features a cowboy and let’s face it, who doesn’t love a good cowboy story? Especially a very handsome one? John Mitchell is completely consumed by guilt and has moved home to run the family’s ranch after his youngest brother suffers a traumatic brain injury and his father dies. John believes he is to blame for his brother’s injury and that guilt is never far from his mind. Only a few breaths away, actually. When his mother discovers a new program that could help his brother, John balks and doesn’t think it will work any better than the last four years’ of therapy programs has. But he agrees. Therapist Jill Morgan feels God is telling her to help Ben Mitchell. She has no idea why, because medically speaking, he has gone as far as he can go. But she gets on board, but soon realizes that Ben is not the only Mitchell in desperate need of help.
Amanda Mason has written a story that grabs the reader’s heart and hangs on; we feel their pain and guilt along with the hope that just maybe there is a happy to grab somewhere along the line. Very well written and thoroughly enjoyed by this reader. I highly recommend it.

From the first moment, this book pulled me into the story and I read for hours at a time, finishing it in less than one day. What a mystery! Every once in a while you read a book that just dives so deep into your heart and involves your emotions to such a degree that you can’t even think about picking up another book right away; a book that makes you smile and cry and just wonder in amazement at the depth of love a man has for a woman. This is that book.
Josh Dixon left Carly Collins with an infant and walked out of her life. He left Carly broken. Now their 16 year old son is having serious health issues and Josh is determined to help and also to prove to Carly that he is so sorry for his past and is determined to win her back. Carly wants nothing to do with this plan. Josh had reasons for leaving and he has had to deal with incredibly painful hurts, but he can’t bear to tell Carly.
This is quite possibly the most poignant, tender and moving romance I have ever read. I can’t really describe adequately how this book made me feel. Walsh has given us a story full of a love that has endured through over twenty years, a love that knows no bounds and is incapable of fading. Josh Dixon is a hero that will stay with me, that’s for sure. He has been hurt beyond imagining, and the girl who loved him through the hurt is the girl he has loved deeply and will love forever. I do not think there is a woman alive who would not want to be loved the way Josh Dixon loves Carly Collins. It’s a love that’s nearly tangible on the page! I highly, highly recommend this novel.

Have you ever been ministered to by a book? Really ministered to, as in God just swooped down and touched you mightily through the pages? I have. Many times. And what’s so amazing about it is this: the very same God who spoke this world into existence, knew before time began that I would need that word at that particular time, AND He created that author and gave her the very words to write that He knew would touch me and minister deeply to my heart. Is that not the most amazing thing? God loves us so very much! My husband and I are going through a bitter trial right now and the enemy of our souls is fighting hard. But this did not come as a surprise to God. He knew it. And He wants the best for us. But, as C.S. Lewis said, ‘We know God wants the best for us, but sometimes we wonder how much the best will hurt.’ No one who serves Christ will get a free pass on suffering. No one. We will hurt. We will be tormented by the enemy at times. We will get sick. But God loves us and He is caring for us in ways that we can’t even imagine. He is an on – time God. He will be there for you, just like He was there at the Red Sea crossing, like He was there when Joseph was in prison, when Paul and Silas were in the dark dungeon, when Daniel faced a hungry den of lions, when the three Hebrew children were thrown in the fiery furnace. He is there! And He will never leave.
God will also fight your battles with you and for you. Read 2 Chronicles sometime. Just see what God did. He told His children, ‘This is not your battle. It is mine. Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord.’ So the next time you face an impossible situation, look up and say, ‘God, here’s another battle. I’m so excited to see what You’re going to do!’ I dare you! Watch Him work. So , no matter how tough things get, and trust me, they will get tough because no believer is exempt, we serve a God of the impossible!

I only recently discovered Shirlee McCoy’s books, but I was hooked from the very first one. She does inspirational suspense well. Her books are ‘keep you on the edge of your seat’ seriously suspenseful, full of believable characters and scenarios and the plus is a great spiritual element, which she is not afraid to include. Boldly. This one is a wonderful book, but more importantly, it ministered to me during a time I truly needed to hear the words here. In the above quote. I am on a mission to read all her books. And she has a lot. I highly recommend this author. Very much.
I must admit, this is a fault of mine. When something goes wrong, I rehearse it to DEATH in my mind! And that is wrong! So wrong. God does not want us to dwell on things to the point that they cause us worry, fear and discouragement. Those, in fact, are tools of the enemy of our souls. He loves nothing better than to cause us pain, anxiety and fear. And, I am ashamed to admit, sometimes I allow him to do just that! I just play right into his evil hands. Why do I do this? Saying I’m only human is just too easy of an answer. I do this because I look at the problem and not at the solution. Then I let it build up in my mind till that is all I can think about. And that, my friends, is where sin walks in the door. I am not keeping my mind stayed on Christ. I am not taking those thoughts captive to Christ. I am loitering in the land of discouragement and negativity. Those spirits would love nothing better than to control our minds and cause us extreme pain. How satan must love it when we walk right into his living room and sit down and let him control our minds! Because that’s what we do when we rehearse the problem. I am guilty. So guilty. There are times when problems hit, that all I see IS the problem. It’s hard, folks. It’s very hard sometimes to be positive when the winds and waves are tossing around you. My brother told me recently that it’s hard to see anything but the waves crashing around you when you are in the storm. But, as my pastor recently preached, Jesus is in the boat!
We must take every thought captive to Christ! We must remember that the power of life and death is in our tongues (Proverbs 18:21). We must allow God to set a guard over our mouths (Psalm 141:3). We must let the words of our mouths and the ‘meditations of our hearts’ be acceptable in His sight (Psalm 19:14). Because we can do ALL things through Christ who gives us strength (Philippians 4:13). Even when we don’t feel like it, we can remember that God calls those things that be not as though they were (Romans 4:17). Even when we can’t see daylight for the storm, we can thank God for the sunshine that He is going to bring again!
Sometimes, some days, it seems, I just have to keep praising. Praise when you don’t feel like it. Praise when you see nothing good happening around you. Praise just cause Jesus saved you from hell! Because you know what? Praise confuses the devil. He sees what’s happening to us, knows what he’s throwing at us and we still praise! Whole battles were won because of praise. Read 2 Chronicles 20 sometime. The army of Israel never had to lift one weapon when several armies came against them just because they praised first!!! Praise wins battles. Praise tells the enemy that you refuse to let him torment you, that you refuse to live in his darkness and choose instead to live in God’s light and provision. After all, He will create a stream in the desert, a roadway where there is none, a way where there seems to be no way. He is GOD! NOTHING will ever defeat Him and we are His children! He does not want us to loiter in the land of negativity. He wants us to walk out in the light of His love and goodness!
Who will join me today in praising our way out of discouragement? Let’s do this thing! After all, the glory of the Lord is our rear guard.
