3.5 stars. This collection of 5 little novellas is so cute. Five friends gather and share each others’ wedding stories. And one very special tiara. Perfect for a cozy fall or winter read just before the holidays, you can settle down into this and be blessed as you smile your way through these girls’ weddings. Recommended.

It really touched my heart, so much so that I bought a book written by one woman who endured the harshness of the punishments. This book is profound. Grittier than Mason’s previous novels, she gives us not only a good read, but something to think about in more ways than one. Redemption, grace and forgiveness play a large part here and is something we all should strive to keep active in our lives. Olivia’s situation was heartrending and one that is difficult to read at times, but it touched my heart from the very start. The story shows us how far God will go to help His children when they feel there is no help at all left for them. I love the Big Prairie Romance series by Jennifer Rodewald. Actually, I love anything at all written by her. This time she brings us the youngest Carson sibling, Lane’s story. Lane, who has always been so reckless, silly, flirtatious and bitter. Lane, who both loved and couldn’t stand his brother Lance because Lance has been willed the family farm when their father died. Why couldn’t he have measured up some?

Daisy Hopewell has come to stay with her Aunt Jane after a painful life lesson. She works at the Carson ranch for Lance when Lane shows up for Lance’s wedding. Right off the bat, Lane makes a particularly bad impression on Daisy.

Come along as Jennifer Rodewald once again plumbs the depths of human emotion as we discover that there is so much more to Lane than a flirty guy who never takes anything seriously and Daisy apparently can’t let go of the bitterness in her heart. Once again, I was practically glued to the book, as I always am with Rodewald’s stories. She teaches us instead of just merely entertaining us with a good story. Don’t mistake me: she tells a mighty fine story, but her readers always learn a very valuable lesson in their spiritual walk in her books.

These characters were real enough that I settled down inside this book; the story totally compelling and it flowed marvelously along. Recommended.

Rachel Dylan has very correctly named her series Capitol Intrigue. She once again delivers quite good suspense with intrigue, including some twists that will take the reader by surprise. Dylan knows exactly what she is doing in writing novels so full of suspense that the reader is completely caught up in everything taking place. Recommended.
